    Verbatim SDHC-Karten (Secure Digital High Capacity, SD 2.0) wurden für den Einsatz in kompatiblen Digitalkameras, tragbaren MP3-Playern, Camcordern, Mobiltelefonen, PCs und anderen Anwendungen für Endverbraucher entwickelt. SDHC-Karten verwenden ein FAT32-Dateisystem – eine Spezifikation, die für Anwendungen mit einem höheren Kapazitätsbedarf festgelegt wurde – und sind insbesondere für hochwertige Videos geeignet.

    Die zunehmende Verwendung von hochwertigen Videos, hochauflösender Digitalfotografie und mobilen Anwendungen verlangt höhere Speicherkapazitäten und anspruchsvollere Datenübertragungsraten. Die SDHC-Karten bieten deshalb statt einer Höchstgeschwindigkeit eine kontinuierliche Mindestdatenübertragungsgeschwindigkeit.

    Die Verbatim SDHC-Karten sind mit allen entsprechenden SD-Standards kompatibel. Ein integrierter Schreibschutz verhindert außerdem ein versehentliches Löschen der Daten. SDHC-Karten verwenden die gleiche Low-Level-Formatierung wie SD-Karten, können jedoch nicht für SD-Hostgeräte eingesetzt werden, die die SDA-Standards Version 2.0 nicht erfüllen.
