High image quality and versatility
In the development of the 28-200mm F/2.8-5.6 Di III RXD, Tamron has bundled its know-how in travel zoom lenses. The result is this outstanding travel zoom with F/2.8 speed, which offers excellent image quality at all focal lengths from 28mm wide angle to 200mm telephoto. No compromises have been made in the optical design: several special lenses, including LD (Low Dispersion) and XLD (eXtra Low Dispersion) elements, minimise chromatic aberrations and contribute to a uniformly high imaging performance over the entire image area. Despite its wide zoom range and sophisticated optics, the 28-200mm F/2.8-5.6 is surprisingly light and compact. The innovative travel zoom lens is suitable for virtually any subject, from nature and architecture to portraits and snapshots.
One lens for all subjects
The 28-200mm F2.8-5.6 covers the entire focal length range from 28mm wide angle to 200mm telephoto. This allows many different scenes to be optimally photographed - from wide panoramas to condensed telephoto or close-up shots. Still, with a length of 117 mm and a weight of 575 g, the travel zoom lens remains extremely handy and is easy to carry.
Impressive close-ups with a travel zoom lens
At 28 mm the shortest shooting distance is only 0.19 m, at 200 mm it is 0.80 m. This corresponds to the largest possible reproduction scale of 1:3.1 or 1:3.8. With the fast travel zoom, you can take impressive close-ups with attractive background blur.
Versatile lenses with uniform filter size
All available E-mount lenses from Tamron have the same filter thread (ø 67 mm) so that the same filters and lens caps can be used with all models. All lenses are also similarly compact and can be conveniently transported as a set.
- LD (Low Dispersion): Lens element for increased image sharpness and correction of chromatic aberrations.
- XLD (Extra Low Dispersion) glass: A special glass with an extremely low colour dispersion index for maximum sharpness and compensation of chromatic aberration.
